Jasmine’s Debut Album Release
jasmine.4.t has made a noteworthy entrance into the music scene with her debut album “You are the morning” released through Saddest Factory Records. Alongside the album, she has unveiled a new video for the track “The Dissociation of Guy Fawkes at Tesco”.
Background and Collaborations
The talented Manchester singer-songwriter, who marks the first UK signing to Phoebe Bridgers’ label, collaborated with Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lucy Dacus during the production of the album at Sound City Studios in Los Angeles.
Reflecting on her experience related to the “Guy Fawkes dissociation at Tesco”, jasmine.4.t shares: “A few years ago, I found myself sleeping on the floor of my best friend Khan’s living room in Manchester for several nights. After coming out as trans to my close friends back home in Bristol, my life unraveled; my marriage ended poorly, leaving me without a place to stay. Battling severe PTSD, I made plans that led me to dark thoughts. I vividly recall being in Khan’s bathtub, crying in the dark as she urged me to promise not to follow through with those thoughts.”
“Writing this now fills me with a sense of relief, especially as I embark on this new chapter I hinted at in the second verse. I cried while penning the line ‘find a connection with your true self, something bigger than my life’ because I am experiencing a brighter future that I could never have imagined during those tough times. I hope my story offers hope to anyone who has faced similar struggles.”
The album features captivating performances by the band jasmine.4.t, which includes Phoenix Rousiamanis on piano and strings, Eden O’Brien on drums, and Emily Abbott on bass. Additionally, there are guest appearances from Baker, Bridgers, Dacus, Claude, Becky Mancari, ER. Fightmaster, and the Los Angeles Trans Chorus.
