Atlantic Music Group Partners with Buvision
Atlantic Music Group has established a new partnership with ABOU “Bu” Thiam’s Buvision, introducing a musical imprint under the Atlantic umbrella.
The agreement will allow Buvision’s projects to be distributed and released through Atlantic’s extensive network, as announced by the company on Friday (February 20).
About Buvision and Its Founder
This partnership signifies a new chapter for Thiam, who founded Buvision in 2018 after managing and developing various artists. His impressive roster includes Akon, T-Pain, Jeremy, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Kanye West, Jay-Z, and Chris Brown. Thiam has also held executive roles at both Def Jam and Columbia Records, where he signed British rapper Central Cee.
“The commitment to signing and nurturing emerging artists is fundamental to our values at Atlantic,” stated Elliot Grangu, General Manager of Atlantic Music Group.
“BU possesses a unique vision and has a proven track record of both signing and elevating new talent, in addition to managing the careers of some of the biggest names in the industry. We are excited to welcome him into the Atlantic family.”

Buvision artist 4BATC recently celebrated success with Act II: Date @ 8, which reached No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100, and a remix featuring Drake. Another Buvision artist, Sailorr, was recently named Billboard‘s R&B Rookie of the Month for February.
Thiam, brother of international star Akon, founded Buvision to create a “shelter for artists,” ensuring they have access to top expert teams and fostering an environment that helps unlock their creative potential.
In a 2020 interview with Katya Stone, Thiam recounted his early involvement with Akon: “I was Akon’s A&R before I even knew what A&R was.” He contributed to Akon’s debut album, Trouble, in 2004, and later signed T-Pain in 2005, discovering Jeremy and overseeing the creation of the hit song Birthday Sex. Katya Stone also highlighted that Thiam became the youngest Vice President at Def Jam.
Reflecting on the partnership with Atlantic, Thiam remarked: “Elliot has assembled a team that is crucial to helping artists succeed in today’s landscape; his team is the best in the business.”
“We have a strong lineup of Buvision artist releases scheduled for 2025, kicking off with 4BATC and Sailorr. We can’t wait to get started.”
