Zulu Hardcore Band Takes Hiatus Following Allegations of Abuse Against Frontman

Accusations Against Frontman

The Hardcore group from Los Angeles, Zulu, has announced a pause on their “On Pace” project following serious accusations of mistreatment against their frontman and founder, Anaya Rashid Muhammad.

Response to Allegations

This announcement came after musician Simpson publicly accused Muhammad of cruelty, labeling their relationship as “cruel” and providing details of physical, emotional, and psychological abuse.

Muhammad swiftly denied these claims, describing them as “false and deeply alarming.” He insisted that he had “never participated in any form of physical violence” and had not engaged in “coercion, manipulation, or isolation” of Simpson.

Group’s Statement

The remaining members of Zulu released a statement addressing the issue: “We stand in solidarity with all victims of abuse and strongly condemn any mistreatment of vulnerable individuals within our communities. Our hearts go out to anyone who has faced physical or emotional violence, attacks, or any actions that have undermined their autonomy.”

The members confirmed they have “separated” from Muhammad and will “no longer work with him or perform alongside him in any capacity.” They noted they were unaware of further accusations that had not yet come to light. However, Simpson later refuted this claim, branding the group’s statement as a “lie.”
