Yungblud’s Praise for Lewis Capaldi
Yungblud mentioned that Lewis Capaldi is currently working on new material, describing the Scottish singer and songwriter’s music as “great.”
Insight into Capaldi’s Progress
During an interview with The Sun to promote his latest single “Hello Heaven, Hello,” Yungblud provided fresh updates on his close friend’s progress. “I heard his new music, and it sounds great. He deals with mental health effectively,” he commented.
This update comes after Capaldi had to withdraw from performances in 2023 due to vocal issues linked to his Tourette syndrome. Yungblud, whose real name is Dominic Harrison, also shared how Capaldi influenced his recent single.
“When I created this album, I was very close to Lewis, and he said to me, ‘Just sing, damn it, dude,’” he explained. “I love him; we have been on this journey together. We experienced this simultaneously, and he is perhaps the only friend who understands my worries, just as I comprehend what he goes through.”
Their friendship dates back to the early stages of their careers, with both artists sharing stories of living as neighbors and trying to break into the industry. In 2019, Yungblud recalled their shared experiences, mentioning how they would often “get drunk five nights a week” and “caused so much trouble.”
“Hello Heaven, Hello” marks Yungblud’s first release since 2024’s “Gap” and serves as the initial preview of his upcoming album, which will be his first full-length project since his previous recording in 2022.
