Incident in Switzerland
Young woman! It was reported that they were recently stopped by the police in Switzerland, with their tourist manager held at gunpoint.
The Nottingham group was on their way to Zion when the incident took place.
According to their tourist manager, Mark Evans: “The police stopped me, and as I tried to explain myself, the group (who were tired after a long trip and anxious about being stopped) stared at the policeman, who initially showed pity for the group but then accused me of human trafficking.”
He further elaborated: “According to the police, an elderly woman (whom I had earlier asked for directions at the gas station) reported an ‘unusual gentleman with a strong accent’ transporting three distressed women in the back of the van heading to Switzerland.
Group’s Response
“I was attached to the police car, with a gun drawn, and I politely explained the purpose of our trip. The group was then checked separately, and the police eventually retreated and holstered their weapons.”
After the incident, the group – George, Jada, and Kay – also shared their thoughts. “As Mark always says, when you’re on the road, always be prepared. You never know that after eight hours, we would end up delayed by the police!”
The group recently released their single “Not the Rest.” They are signed to a label in the north called Amy, where they’re labelmates with artists like Nadin Shah.
They are set to perform at several festivals in the upcoming months, including Bearded Theory, Points to the Point, and Trees 2000. The group will also appear in the Rock -n Roll Circus in Sheffield along with James, Ocean Colour Scene, Hugs, Throws, and Sleeping on August 31.
