New single release
Yeule has released a fresh single, “The Evangelical Girl Is A Gun”, serving as a teaser track from their upcoming album, SET, set to launch on May 30 through Ninja Tune.
Track details and inspiration
The new song delves into the divine and dark essence as articulated by Yeule, paired with production inspired by electric circuits. It arrives alongside an official video co-directed by Yeule and the Nile Circle.
Commenting on the title track, Yeule shares: “The angelic blade of a dance stroke with double switches of BPM, nostalgic synthesizers intertwined, alchemized to resemble early electronic sounds reflecting love and obsession. This time, however, it carries a playful flirting aspect through synthesis and drama—a blend of Dark Techno shaped by my vision of what I refer to as ‘Trip Club.’ A journey through eternal light and love, exploring the depth of the heart beneath a subtle facade.”
In “The Evangelical Girl Is A Gun,” collaborations include producers Ag Cook, Chris Gratti, Moore Masa, Clams, Fitness, and Kin Leonn. This album signifies a departure from Yeule’s previous work, showcasing raw vocals infused with influences from Bristol Trip-Hop and Gothic styles of the ’90s.
