Y Unveils Third Track from New EP, “Ladies Who”

New Single Release

U has unveiled their latest single “Ladies who,” which is the third track set to be released from their forthcoming debut EP titled 'Y'.

Background and Musical Style

The London-based band, featuring members linked to Fat White Family, Meatraffle, and Pregoblin, was formed by Adam Brennan and Sophia Coppin. The duo has crafted a distinctive sound by merging their shared musical interests with differing compositional styles, leading them to whimsically explore genres such as Wonk Rock, Gameboy Thrash, and Egyptian wedding music.

About “Ladies Who”

“Ladies who” tackles the theme of media portrayal with a cheerful, wavy pop-drunk facade,” the band explains. “While the lyrics recount the tale of a female murderer, the music feels almost cabaret-like, presenting a dramatization of events that amplifies the fantastic and absurd nature of real-life occurrences in journalism to attract attention.” They raise a thought-provoking question: ladies who, what? What would you need to hear to listen?
