The iconic hip-hop group has not released a full-length album since 2017’s The Saga Continues. However, on April 12, a limited edition of 5,000 copies of their new album will be available at retail shops participating in Record Store Day.
This new project marks the reunion of Wu-Tang with producer Mathematics, who has been associated with the group since its inception. The album features contributions from all nine surviving members of Wu-Tang, alongside Kool G Rap, Kurupt, and Benny Blanco.
The album will be officially credited to Wu-Tang and Mathematics. The producer remarked, “Wu-Tang has always been about pushing the boundaries, artistically and culturally. With ‘Black Samson’, I’m providing fans not only an album, but a piece of history—something truly one of a kind.”
“This is more than music; it’s innovation, storytelling, and heritage all in one. I’m excited for everyone to hear the music and to experience the art surrounding this album.”

Earlier today (February 6), a comprehensive list of releases for Record Store Day 2025 was unveiled, featuring exclusive vinyl from notable artists such as Oasis, Charli XCX, Fred Again, The Cure, Gorillaz, Taylor Swift, and many more. See the full list here.
This marks the 18th edition of the event, with hundreds of exclusive releases primarily available at over 270 independent record stores across the UK and thousands more internationally. Sam Fender serves as the RSD ambassador for the UK, while the role for the United States has been taken on by Maluma.
In the meantime, Wu-Tang Clan previously released a solitary copy of their 2015 album “Once Upon a Time in Shaolin,” purchased by former hedge fund manager and Pharma Bro Martin Shkreli for $2 million (£1.4 million), who later faced legal issues surrounding the album.
Shkreli acquired the album under a legal agreement stipulating that it cannot be commercially exploited until 2103, although it may be played at private events. He infamously played clips of the album during a livestream in 2017 despite the restrictions, and later attempted to sell it on eBay for $1.2 million (£940,000), although the sale never went through. Subsequently, he was forced to relinquish the album after being convicted of securities fraud, leading to federal court seizing $7.4 million (£5.8 million) of his assets.
