The Manchester band laid down the track at Low Four Studios, with production handled by Tom McClung and the band themselves, alongside additional production and mixing by Brendan Williams.
In a statement about their reformation, the group shared: “Wu Lif was always better left unspoken, to be experienced rather than discussed. The words killed him. You just had to feel it. Twelve years after the fire burned down, life evolved us. We all took separate paths, trying to escape the shadow cast over the brief spectrum of our youth.”
They added: “We set up a camp in the attic of a friend’s bookstore for unfamiliar instruments, familiar emotions, and we began to play, initially with open hearts and minds, searching for new forms that were not bound by the past. Old friends, with a familiar touch from our hands, know that our minds have forgotten. This has always been about expecting that we remember.”
The new single features Ellery Roberts on vocals, organs, sub-bass, and piano, Joseph Mannings on drums and organ, Evans Katya on guitar and vocals, along with Tom McClung contributing vocals, guitar, and bass.
