Wolf Alice Reveals Influential Playlist Ahead of New Single “Bloom Baby Bloom”

The Playlist Influence

The Wolf Alice shared playlist influences on their new material, featuring tracks from David Bowie, The Chemical Brothers, Carole King, Kate Bush, The Beatles, and more.

Teasing New Music

This announcement comes as they tease their new single “Bloom Baby Bloom,” hinting at the possibility of a new album on the horizon. The group mentioned they are embarking on a new era, sharing preliminary views of an unrelated song as well as lyrics.

A playlist with a total of 45 tracks was created by Wolf Alice on Spotify and later shared on the official account of the group. It includes tracks such as “Plastic Jesus” by Tia Blake, “If I Bil,” “This Is All For All” by Fleetwood Mac, and “Fallen Fruit” by Lorde.

The playlist is titled with four sunflower emojis and had accumulated over 2000 saves as of April 24.

The sunflower emoji continues the floral theme that the band has embraced in their recent music hints. On April 16, they updated their social media channels, launching a new logo and directing fans to their website. Users are prompted to enter a password by clicking the link.

This leads to a site named Bloom – Wolf Alice. Beneath the new black and gold logo, a phrase reads: “Each flower needs the neighborhood with dirt.”

Fans who submitted their email addresses received a message with the subject “Bloom.”

This email appears to contain a lyrical sheet, starting with the lines: “Do I have to force you, sit in your arms/ damn, baby, baby/ you want me to show you who I am/ see this fire in my eyes, a boy/ This is your flash in a pan.” The handwritten note also includes previously mentioned lyrics: “Each flower should focus with dirt.” Another line states: “But I bloom baby bloom/ I will see me and you will see that I am standing.

Meanwhile, lead vocalist Ellie Rowsell has continued the flower theme, sharing numerous flower images on her personal Instagram. In contrast, bassist Theo Ellis posted just one flower emoji on X/Twitter.
