New Music and Upcoming Album
The artist, known as Sabrina Teitelbaum, released a single earlier this year, providing a sneak peek of her upcoming second album, “If You Ask for a Picture”, set to drop on May 2 through Partisan.
Taking the stage as the first NME Cover Star, she delivered a passionate performance of the track at an average tempo, accompanied by her band.
“Letting him out, why do good ones do not love me? / Watching how he falls / watches how he goes right in front of me,” she sings in an explosive chorus. Watch it below.

Insights on the Single
While discussing the single in January, Teitelbaum mentioned: “In ‘Tattoo and Tattoo You’, there’s a line in the song ‘Tattoos you’ called ‘Little T&B’, where at some point it states ‘Tits and Ass’, and I borrowed that.”
“I think in music, it’s easy to view things as more sexualized or romanticized, and I wanted it to be both,” she added. “I see this as a love story—maybe not the most fabulous love story—but I wanted it to feel like a genuine narrative song, where one event leads to another, and then you find yourself in an unexpected place. This isn’t usually how I write, but I really wanted this kind of song.”
“If You Ask for a Picture” represents a continuation of BlondShell’s debut album and takes its title from a line in Mary Oliver’s 1986 poem, Dogfish. Click here to pre-order.
Since the album announcement, the singer has also released the single “Two Times” and announced a tour in the UK and Europe. Buy tickets here.
The 2023 debut album by BlondShell received five stars from NME, which remarked: “Shine” is a remarkable triumph in multiple ways. It’s rare for emerging artists to have the opportunity to shift their sound and allow their life experiences to influence their music.
“Too often, creators feel pigeonholed or, even worse, overlooked—and this could have been the case for Teitelbaum. Instead, we have one of the year’s standout alternative rock albums, one that will resonate for a long time.”
