In other news, frontman Brandon Flowers recently revealed to NME that he is working on his third solo album.
He said: “I’m making a solo record right now! I’m almost done. This is different. I feel like it embodies a few elements from my first two solo albums, but there’s obviously been much more life experienced in the seven years since my last effort. I have a greater understanding and things I’ve absorbed. I really like how it’s turning out.”
Regarding the potential new Killers record, Flowers mentioned that it would likely continue in the same vein as their last album, “Pressure Machine” from 2021.
He stated: “I realized that the car I want to drive has fewer synthesizers and fewer laser sounds! I’m trying to understand that. It’s not to say we haven’t made records like Sam’s Town (2006), Battle Born (2012), and definitely ‘Pressure Machine’ (2021), where there is less of that sound. I don’t denigrate that sound—much of that music shaped who I am—but as I grow older, I want to be true to who I am and how I feel. I feel that this leads me more towards guitar-driven music, rock ‘n’ roll, and American music.”

As for where the next album is headed, Flowers added: “Right now, I’m drawn to relationships and singing about what people need to do to truly work on them, while still having empathy for the issues they deal with. Every time I delve into that territory, it strengthens my own relationship, helping me understand what I need to do to make it work and what I need to invest in. This process is significant for me as it makes me a better person.”
The Killers also recently announced their performance at Madison Square Garden with Bruce Springsteen, set to be released on Record Store Day 2025.
Entitled “The Killers & Bruce Springsteen Encore in the Garden,” the 12-inch vinyl will be available on April 12 at participating record stores. This release includes three of their encore songs performed together on October 1, 2022, at the iconic New York venue. Only 5,000 copies will be pressed.
