The band kicked off their mini-tour in Australia on Friday (February 28) in the Melbourne area of Flemington, choosing to delve into their catalog to give the track its live debut.
“Gematria (The Killing Name)” was first featured on their fourth studio album “All Hope is Gone” in 2008. Frontman Corey Taylor mentioned that, despite his affection for the song, the rest of the band had previously deemed it unlikely to ever be performed live. He told All Things Music in 2023: “If the dad does not end, someday opens for Slipknot, this shit will never happen.”
See how Taylor’s prediction was proven wrong.

After their current tour in Australia and New Zealand, the metal band will head to Europe for a continental tour in June, starting at the Sweden Rock Festival in Sölvesborg, Sweden, on June 4. They delivered an energetic show in London in December as part of their extensive 25th-anniversary tour. Taylor expressed his gratitude to the crowd, stating: “The first thing I want to tell you is how grateful we are, how much we value and love every single one of you here in this building. 25 years ago, we released our very first Slipknot album, and many people around the world really supported us, but no one took us in like this fucking city and this fucking country. That is why London, England, will always be home away from home.”
