Super Bowl Anticipation
The Compton rapper is set to perform at the prestigious Caesars SuperDome in New Orleans tonight (February 9) during the game featuring the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.
In anticipation of this significant event, the NFL Network showcased the latter half of an exclusive interview with Lamar, conducted by the renowned star Chalamet. The video captures them sitting in the GNX car—a model named after Lamar’s upcoming album—while they jam together to tracks like “Heart Pt. 2” from 2010, “Overly Dedicated,” and “Kush & Corinthians” from the 2011 project “Section.80.”

Chalamet’s Admiration for Lamar
“I’m going back,” Chalamet exclaims, reflecting on his knowledge of Lamar’s career. “I just know that I’m also aware of all the hits, dude. I don’t want people to think that I’m stuck in the past.”
Chalamet also inquired whether Kendrick would contemplate sharing the rights to his life story with a film studio. “I don’t think that there are any documentaries or anything,” Kendrick replied. “I’m present… I still have ideas that I want to share. I’m passionate now.”
The initial segment of the video was released on Friday (February 7), where Chalamet expressed his admiration for Lamar. “Just being a fan of your music forever and seeing where you are now, dude,” he remarked. “It’s just crazy, Super Bowl Halftime Show. And you just continue to climb, brother. It’s incredible.”
It has been confirmed that SZA will join Kendrick during the halftime performance, with at least one more surprise guest anticipated during the show.
Lamar previously featured as a guest during Dr. Dre’s halftime performance in 2022, which also included appearances by Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, and 50 Cent.
Last year, the Super Bowl Halftime Show was headlined by Ashanti, who shared the stage with Alicia Keys, her, and will.i.am. In 2023, Rihanna delivered a career-spanning set at the main event, making her performance one of the most iconic halftime shows in history.
In other news from last week, Lamar took home five awards at the 2025 Grammys, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year for his track “Not the Same as We Are.”
