Watch Djo Perform a Cover of “Gasoline” by Haim in the Latest Triple J Radio Session

Joe’s Performance in Australia

Joe delivered a cover of “Gasoline” during the “Like a Version” series on Triple J, showcasing his talent at the recent Laneway festival in Australia.

Connection to Haim’s Music

The musician and actor, known as Joe Kiri, offered a laid-back take on the track from Haim’s third album, “Women in Music Pt. III.”

“I love this album,” Kiri stated. “I think they are such incredible artists—it’s special that they are sisters creating music together. Coming from a big family myself, I wrote a song called ‘Basic…’ that my sisters sing on. It felt meaningful to pay homage to Haim for that reason.”

He continued, “I resonate with this song because it has a slight edge, and I often find myself holding back from expressing that edge in my personal life. However, when I sing this song, I feel like I can momentarily embrace it, and that’s refreshing.”

During the session, Kiri also presented “Basic ‘Basic,” a track from his forthcoming album “The Crux,” set to release on April 4.
