Judges Surprised by Underwood’s Knowledge

During the recent episode of American Idol, former winner and current judge Carrie Underwood surprised her colleagues, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan, with her knowledge about metal and hard rock music.

During the listening session, the 18-year-old participant from InSite aimed to impress the judges with their rendition of “The Freak on a Leash.” During the performance, Underwood was seen in the field of speech before completely engaging and singing to the performance.

While Richie and Bryan were impressed by Underwood’s alter ego, they were uncertain about InSite’s abilities, prompting Underwood to ask if she could listen to another track. Ultimately, they landed on the “Bodies” of the drowning pool, where Underwood moved to stand beside him and sing together.

Richie commented on Underwood: “She knew every word … who are you?!” Luke Bryan added: “We are starting to learn about alter-ego Carrie, Heavy-Metal Carrie,” before calling her a “rock god.”

Later, all three judges voted for her to move forward to the next round of American Idol.

Despite the fact that Carrie Underwood was primarily known for her country music in the past, she has also been involved in the world of rock music, performing with Guns N’ Roses and Axl Rose. Last year, she collaborated with Pope Rouch to release the song “Leave Light On” to raise awareness for suicide prevention.

As for Korn, the group led by Brian Welch shared news about new music, stating: “It will not be soon.” Regarding their plans for live performances, Korn is set to play at the Loading Festival and France Alfest this summer.
