Vera Farmiga, Star of ‘The Dental’ to Release Debut Album with Metal Band The Yagas

Vera Farmiga’s Musical Journey

Actor Vera Farmiga, best known for her roles in Spell and Hawkes, has announced that she will be sharing a debut album with her metal group The Yagas.

The Oscar-nominated actor has been immersed in the music scene for years, delighting fans with her impressive contributions to metal. In 2022, she covered “Soldier,” “Trees of Miden,” and “Military Pigs” at a rock academy. The following year, she released a cover of the song “Duality.”

Upcoming Album and New Single

Now, she has revealed that her debut album with The Yagas, titled “Midnight Minuet,” is set to release on April 25, featuring 10 tracks mixed by Grammy nominee Brian Virty (Deftones) and mastered by Grammy winner Emily Lazar.

A new preview of the record comes in the form of the single “Life of the Widow,” which addresses themes of loss and the struggle against isolation.

“The song captures the deep pain of feeling the presence of a deceased loved one,” she stated. Metals Sucks

“The main character in our song traverses her suffering; she wanders through the chaotic midnight moments of pulsating despair. She longs to feel less lonely and desperately seeks the presence of her lost love. Her tears will not cease while he is around,” she added.
“We explore these sudden, cruel jabs of intense grief—feeling beaten down and yearning for alleviation and reunion.”

The group’s keyboard player, Renn Hoki, who is also married to Farmiga and a member of Deadsy alongside Elijah Blue Allman, shared, “Producing ‘Midnight Minuet’ was incredibly cathartic for me. I felt compelled to prove to myself that I could create exceptional music outside of Deadsy. This was a wholly different creative journey for me.”

“’Midnight Minuet’ simply felt different,” he added. “The Yagas have created a new playground together, drawing from our shared life experiences and equal contributions. We are a sum of our parts. When that kind of synergy exists, you nurture it and let it flourish.”

Earlier this month, the group made their live debut and is scheduled to perform at Bowery Ballroom in New York on Saturday (April 5) as part of the Casa Gogol Records: New York event.

As for Vera Farmiga’s next film appearance, she will star in the upcoming movie “Company Convoking,” which Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema confirmed last year as part of the larger franchise. As of now, the film is slated to release on September 5, 2025, marking the final appearance of Patrick Wilson and Farmiga as Ed and Lorraine Warren.
