Vegyn reimagines classic album
Vegyn has announced a reimagining of the 1998 cult album “Moon Safari,” which is set for release in April.
Details of the new release
Entitled “Blue Moon Safari,” this new version from the Vegyn project will be launched on April 12. The electronic producer aims to put a unique spin on the iconic debut album of the French group.
The original “Moon Safari” gained popularity for its ethereal synthesizers, flowing bass lines, and lush melodies, forming the essence of melodic, atmospheric pop classics. Vegyn’s reinterpretation will introduce an experimental soundscape with added energetic vitality.
AIR recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of the original “Moon Safari,” performing the project live for the first time. The duo completed 77 shows across Europe, North America, Australia, Latin America, and Asia.
In a 5-star review of their performance at London College last March, NME’s Andrew Trendell commended the duo for creating a transcendental and atmospheric experience, describing it as “a luxury for the eyes and ears.”
He noted: “Pure musicality would be sufficient (who knew the trio could create such a galaxy of sound), but the entire experience elevates you from your seat. Witnessing their show is akin to indulging in a blissful sensory experience. It’s delightful to see so many attendees eagerly sharing the joy, essentially echoing the French expression for ‘Holy Shit!’
“Playing the album from start to finish requires a specific initiation, but Air has crafted an exhilarating universe for ‘Moon Safari.’ Rather than clinging to the past, the group captivates us with thick grooves and impeccable timing—constant joy from beginning to end. Don’t miss this show at any cost.”
