Miley Cyrus Unveils New Album Details
Miley Cyrus has given fans an exciting glimpse of her forthcoming album “Something Beautiful” – check out the “Prelude” below.
Release Information
The singer-songwriter is set to launch the “fat” entry on May 30 through Columbia Records, and she has already revealed its striking album cover. Cyrus serves as the executive producer for the LP, collaborating with Shone Everett (known for his work with Kacey Musgraves and Alabama Shakes).
Following the “endless summer holidays” of 2023, the project will also feature a “visual” film version, directed by Cyrus, Jacob Bixenman, and Brendan Walter, expected to hit theaters in June.
Today (March 31), Cyrus kicked off her new era by sharing the “Prelude” from her ninth studio album.
The dramatic track hints at the 13 songs from “Something Beautiful,” showcasing Cyrus delivering introspective lyrics over a somber orchestral instrumental accompanied by synthesizers.

“As you follow the image from the train, your eyes cannot help but let the passing landscapes be absorbed into an endless distance,” Cyrus expresses. “As if storing a fist full of ash, your hands cannot hold onto things that have already dissolved into the air.”
“How, when facing the sun through the window, your skin feels warm, yet you cannot be in that world that has been gently revived. How to wander alone through a lucid dream, for instance, to say your name aloud in an empty room.”
Cyrus co-produced the “Prelude” alongside Everett, Michael Pollak, Jonathan Rado, and her partner Max Morando.
The official visuals for the song feature Cyrus in the same attire as seen in the “Something Beautiful” cover art – “Archbaking 1997” by Thierry Mugler Couture.
Before the track reaches its cinematic depth, the emotional Cyrus gazes into the camera to assert that “the beauty found in solitude is a prayer yearning to be shared.” The video was filmed by Cyrus, Bixenman, and Walter. Check it out above.
As some fans speculated, the Prelude indicates that the singer has steered away from straightforward pop music on her new LP, leaning towards a more experimental and potentially darker sound.
“Something Beautiful” has been labeled “a unique pop-opera from the mind of Miley Cyrus.” The official description states: “A distinctive visual experience nourishing Fantasy, featuring 13 original tracks from the upcoming album.”
In a four-star review of “Endless Summer Holidays,” NME noted: “All these elements contribute to an album that captivates your complete attention, even if it isn’t the most daring or groundbreaking effort from Cyrus.
