Tune in to Lucy Dacus’s “Damage” and Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra” on Radio 1!

Lucy Dacus Performs Unique Rendition

Lucy Dacus delivered a captivating cut version of Lady Gaga’s hit “Abracadabra”.

Ghostly Interpretation on Radio 1

The Boygenius star showcased her talent on the new musical show Radio 1 with Jack Saunders.

In contrast to the original disco-pop vibe, Dacus’ rendition was haunting and tranquil. You can listen to it below.

She also performed “ankles” and “best assumption” from her recent album, Forever Is Sense.

This record received a four-star review from NME, which described it as an album that transitions from “Spiky Indie” to “Grand Chamber-Pop,” delightfully narrating the onset of a new tale.

“While it radiates joy along its journey, ‘forever – this feeling’ does not shy away from the more daunting aspects of being completely obsessed with someone. It is bliss, it is hell,” sings Dacus on the title track. “This feeling is eternal, and I know it thoroughly,” she states. “Although longing and mortality have long been recurring themes in Dacus’s music, the stakes feel even higher—and more thrilling—when there’s so much to lose.”

Additionally, Dacus recently revealed that Taylor Swift reached out to her ahead of releasing “Department of Inquisitive Poets,” seeking approval to mention her name in the song’s lyrics.

“This was the first record of Taylor that resulted from our meeting, and listening to a friend’s recording feels so much more personal than hearing a stranger’s work,” she shared.

“At that moment, I thought: ‘This is truly surreal. This voice I’ve known seems to pronounce my name throughout my waking life,’” she continued. “It was a remarkable experience. I just had to respond: ‘Yes. Wow.’ But I consider her recording to be exceptionally grand, and I’m unsure how many artists reach her level; if anyone does, they create from an incredibly open heart.”

Meanwhile, Gaga is facing a $100 million lawsuit from a surf company claiming she infringed on their logo.

She also recently announced a world tour with stops across Great Britain, Europe, and North America.

Included in these dates are three nights at the O2 in London—October 29, 30, and October 2—as well as a show at Co-Op Live Arena in Manchester on October 7.

Tickets go on sale this Thursday (April 3). Click here for tickets in the UK and here for international tickets.
