Calvin Harris Explores New Territory
Calvin Harris has ventured into the country genre with his latest single “Smoke The Pain Away,” marking his first return to vocal work in several years.
New Music and Collaborations
This release is Harris’s first new music since collaborating with Ellie Goulding on “Free.” Following that, he released remixes of his 2016 collaboration with Rihanna, “This Is What You Came For,” in November, titled “Calvin Harris VIP Mix – Amazon Music Original.”
After teasing the new single last week, it finally debuted. The reflective country song features Harris singing: “Eyes shine like the sun in June / grew up and wait for you / wide wakefulness in the hotel room / Thinkin’, ‘Oh, what I can do’,” he croons.
“Too late, I have been for several days / I don’t even see directly / no, I can’t smoke pain,” he adds.

Historic Residency at Ushuaia Ibiza
Meanwhile, Harris made history this week by becoming the first artist to host a double residency at Ushuaia Ibiza.
The producer, DJ, and Grammy-winning artist will perform on Tuesdays and Fridays at Ushuaia Ibiza, featuring 25 meticulously curated shows this summer. From May 30 to September 12, Harris will fulfill his set every Friday, and from July 1 to August 26, he will perform every Tuesday.

The press release promises “25 carefully curated shows that provide a world-exclusive residency, unlike anything seen before.” Discussing the upcoming residency, Harris expressed: “This is something that has never been done before, and I am thrilled to be the first artist to hold a double residency at Ushuaia Ibiza.”
In other news, Calvin Harris received the Best Electronic prize at the 2024 MTV Europe Awards in Manchester, triumphing over competitors like David Guetta, Disclosure, and Fred again…. He also recently dispelled rumors regarding a collaboration with Miley Cyrus titled “The Ocean” and indicated plans to step back after 50 years.
