Last Saturday (March 1), Elimination Chamber took place at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, where John Cena won the title match, earning his spot at Wrestlemania to challenge the current undisputed champion, Cody Rhodes. If Cena defeats Rhodes, he will become the most decorated world champion in WWE history with 17 world championships.
Wrestling Drama Unfolds
In a surprising twist, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, who is currently under the guidance of the Maniac Authority Final Boss Figure, demanded that Rhodes “sell his soul” in exchange for his corporation. Rhodes, however, rejected the offer, telling Johnson to “go fuck yourself” before embracing Cena. Unfortunately, following a signal from Johnson, Cena turned on Rhodes and aggressively attacked him.
Travis Scott accompanied Cena to the ring and witnessed the entire ordeal, even joining in on the brutal assault by hitting Rhodes while he was down. Many fans complained that the rapper hit Rhodes harder than intended when the attack landed on Rhodes’ face.

According to Combat Sports, plans were already in place as of January for Scott to step into the squared circle.
The Grammy-winning rapper has a good relationship with WWE, serving as an ambassador for the promotion, appearing at press conferences with Rey Mysterio, and joining Jay Uso in the ring during the premiere of Raw on Netflix. He also contributed his latest number one single ‘4×4’ to the new Raw theme song.
Recent reports indicated that while there were discussions within WWE regarding Scott’s involvement, they were unclear about plans for him to assist in Cena’s heel turn. However, sources mentioned that “the wheels were already in motion” for Scott to become part of the “main roster.”
Wrestling also reported that Scott is training in wrestling, with one source indicating that he is training at a WWE legend’s school. Nevertheless, WWE sources could not confirm the specifics of these training sessions.
Other Notable Appearances
As of now, there are no confirmed timelines for when fans can expect to see the rapper “in the squared circle,” and no confirmation has been made regarding Scott, The Rock, John Cena, or Triple H (WWE content director).
Additionally, rapper Sexyy Red revealed that she was offered a more permanent role in WWE Television, this time on the NXT brand. In a recent interview, she mentioned that if she had the time to train properly, she could be a wrestler, but for now, she accepted the role of Kamea.
During her debut, she announced the new North America Women’s Championship belt and helped Je’von Evans and Trick Williams secure a Tag Team victory. On her second appearance, Red participated in the Premium Live Event The Battleground and was seen backstage with wrestling legend Shawn Michaels, assisting the Hall of Famer with his return. Her last appearance on NXT was in October, where she delivered a speech (or “cut a promo”) before being interrupted by a heel turn from Athena Page.
Other rappers have also collaborated with WWE, including “Hard Foal” and “Zhol,” whose song “Neva Play” gained attention. Bad Bunny and Snoop Dogg have also taken part in wrestling, with the former having held the now-defunct 24/7 championship.
Scott wasn’t the only rap star present at Elimination Chamber; Drake and Lil Yachty were also spotted sitting in the front row at the Rogers Centre. Notably, Drake’s appearance was significant as it came just days after he had to cancel four shows in Australia and New Zealand due to a “scheduling conflict.”
In an interesting note, Scott remarked that wrestling “could be better than acting” in a backstage video shared by WWE executive and former wrestler Triple H Levesque. “It was like a whole ‘note,’” he explained. “It was so insane… I’m already hooked.”
In other news, Scott will headline Reading & Leeds 2025 this August, alongside Bring Me the Horizon, Chappell Roan, and Khozier. Find available tickets here.
