Tom York Unveils Live Performance of New Collaboration with Mark Pritchard: “Back to the Game”

Tom York’s Live Release

Tom York has unveiled a live rendition of “Back in the Game”, his collaboration with Mark Prechard, which was recorded at the Sydney Opera Theater.

About the Collaboration

The track, which originally debuted on Warp Records in January, was performed live during a solo tour across Asia, Australia, and New Zealand by Yorke.

“Having returned to the game” represents the second collaboration between York and electronic producer Prechard, following their 2016 track “Beautiful People.” The new song features Yorke’s vocals enhanced by the H910 harmonizer, one of the first digital audio effect devices. Although reports suggest the duo is working on a full-length album together, official announcements have yet to be made.

Future Plans and Speculations

When questioned about the future of Radiohead, York stated to Double J, “I don’t know about it and really don’t fuck in flight. No one is offended by anyone and mistaken, thanks for the care. But I think that we have earned the right to do what makes sense for us, without explaining ourselves or bearing the responsibility of someone else’s historical idea of what we should do.”

This release follows “Neckline,” the latest album from York’s project Smile, which includes Johnny Greenwood and Tom Skinner. While Radiohead held reunification rehearsals during the summer, Johnny Greenwood confirmed that there are no plans for Radiohead’s activity in 2025, as the members are focused on their individual projects.
