Tom Rasmussen and Self Esteem Collaborate on New Single ‘Rescue Me’

New single release by Tom Rasmussen

Tom Rasmussen has unveiled a new single “Save Me”, featuring Self-esteem. This track is part of Tom’s latest album Live Wire, which is now available through Globe Town Records.

Exploring modern friendship themes

The collaboration delves into the dynamics of friendship in today’s world and is complemented by a video directed by Vic Lenten. This follows Rasmussen’s earlier partnership with Romy on the song “Never Look Back”.

“Save Me” addresses the evolution of friendship, highlighting how both parties may critique each other’s life choices. In a world overtaken by capitalism, heteronormativity, and societal norms, perhaps we all seek a reprieve from the constraints that we may not notice until it’s too late,” Rasmussen shares. “This track is a nod to my indie roots, featuring driving drums, prominent guitar, and intense emotions. I’m incredibly grateful that she agreed to collaborate, and that Vic and Milo were willing to capture our unique relationship in this video: our peculiar bond at the world’s end.”

Self-esteem reflects: “As a longtime fan, it was a privilege to be invited to feature on this beautiful song. I feel a profound connection to Tom, their music, and artistic vision. Honestly, participating in this collaboration felt like a victory for me. I hope you enjoy this CCTV footage of us together in the making of this video.”
