Ghost’s World Tour Announcement
Ghost’s Tobias Forge explained the rule “without a phone” for his world tour of 2025, stating that “it is so difficult for people to study.”

Details on the Tour
Back in October, the Swedish metal group announced a 55-day round, which will begin on Aor Auro in Manchester on April 15, and will take place throughout Great Britain, Europe, and North America, concluding in Mexico City on September 24. Find the remaining tickets HereField.
During the announcement, Ghost made it clear that the show would offer a “without telephone experience,” explaining that audience members’ mobile phones will be stored in Yondr bags, ensuring minimal distraction.
Now, in an interview with Loudwire Nights, frontman Forge discussed this policy, saying: “We want (fans) to be there at the moment.”

He explained that during their first attempt in Los Angeles, the crowd was “phenomenal,” despite the challenge of encouraging modern audiences to fully “interact” with the performance.
“We went out the first night and were just amazed that these people were so engaged,” he added. “The value of not seeing phones was akin to a trip back in time. I’m not saying, as back in the 80s, but maybe 10 years ago, when people typically didn’t film as much, while today it’s just absurd. If you perform in front of 10,000 people, 8,000 of them are holding phones. I would love it to be like this all the time.
“There’s something instinctively understood between the group and the audience. I really believe that people will find this experience more enjoyable than any show you’ve seen – certainly more pleasant than standing behind, staring at 1,000 screens with the band behind that.”
They are not the first artists to implement such a policy; last year, Bob Dylan announced a similar plan for his UK tour, while Jack White did the same during his 2018 run.
Earlier this week, Ghost announced their new album ‘Skeletá’, featuring the latest incarnation of Forge’s character, Papa V Perpetua. They also released the first single, which you can listen to above. The album is set to be released on April 25 through Loma Vista and is available for Pre-order hereField.
“We want to convey that, with several smoke balls, our eternal state of anticipation has subsided. We’ve learned that patience is key to unlocking any door in life. Let’s celebrate the coronation of Papa V Perpetua and the announcement of the sixth psalm of Ghost, ‘Skeletá,’” read the new teaser.
In addition to the forthcoming tour, Papa Perpetua will also perform at Black Sabbath’s ‘Fine Afed Show’ final in Villa Park, Birmingham, on July 5.
Last year, Alex Ross Perry, who directed the group’s film Ritual Here, Ritual Now, spoke with NME about the ghost’s narrative: “Ghost as a band is similar to a planet, and history is like the moon. The moon is not a part of the planet, but it orbits around it,” he said. “The songs and themes are related to what Ghost seeks, but they don’t create a rock opera about family dynamics. For fans, it’s like getting two main courses instead of one.”
