The event, allowing groups to sell their goods for free and retain 100 percent of their income, is set to take place on Sunday, May 25.

Attendees will have the opportunity to see the frontman of the soloist and Charlatans speak live at the Multi-Cenue market, a venture inspired by the success of his Vinyl events in the city back in 2021.

Exciting Additions to the Event

The participating venues, O2 Ritz Manchester, Gorilla, and Dog Bowl—each just a minute’s walk apart—will host kiosks, live performances, DJs, an on-stage interview, and panel discussions.

Bergess has also introduced the “Tunnel of Love,” a railway arch between the last two venues, originally named after the Fun Boy Three song from 1983.

According to Bergess, those attending will also have the chance to honor the late Specials frontman, Terry Hall, who will be present at the event.

He stated: “Initially, our plans were to use O2 Ritz, Gorilla, and Dog Bowl, but we approached Manchester City for permission to utilize the ‘Tunnel of Love’—the railway arch connecting Gorilla and Dog Bowl—they approved it, so it will be closed to traffic, allowing us to set up a stage and trade markets.”

Burges added: “They informed me that they were representing Piano Terry Hall after his passing, and he could perform for guests in the Tunnel of Love—Terry was a great friend. It’s such a lovely gesture—so many incredible things are unfolding.”

New Artists and Memorable Tributes

A member of the Charlatans confirmed that numerous new artists are registering for the event, including Everything Everything, Foam, Cabbage, Red Spots, Wax Tree, Throw, Dirty Lace, Hannah Ashcroft, and many more.

The family of the late Nella Smith will also have a booth to support the teenager’s memorial fund, alongside several organizations like the musical glue, Sonic Boom festival, Prunter Publishing, and Analog Garbage.

Bergess will man his own kiosk throughout the day, showcasing goods and rarities he has collected over the years, including five Charlatan sports bags from Sproston Green before they are available for order.

Additionally, many bands unable to attend will send merchandise that fans may have missed, featuring items from Pigeons, Pulp, Vaccines, and Hard-Faced Fingers.

Artists and vendors interested in participating in the Merch market can apply for a stall via the Help Us Help Bands website. Volunteers wishing to assist in the field can contact Erpr@ogenesisRedings.com.
