Thurston Moore and Napalm Death Team Up to Cover Ramones Classics

New Tribute Albums Announced

Thurston Moore from Sonic Youth has teamed up with Napalm Death for a special Ramones cover—get the details below.

This collaboration, which has already been recorded, will feature on the upcoming Magnetic Eye Records compilation “Ramones Redux” and “Best of Ramones Redux,” expected to release in early June.

“Ramones Redux” will see various artists fully cover the iconic 1976 album of the same name, while “Best of Ramones Redux” will include a selection of the band’s greatest hits.

The exact release dates and track listings for the tribute albums have not yet been shared, but pre-orders are now available via the Magnetic Eye Records Kickstarter campaign. Check it out here.

One of the tracks will feature Moore alongside the legendary grindcore band Napalm Death, covering classic Ramones songs. Other artists involved in the albums include Bauhaus’s David J, former Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo, and avant-garde groups like Kayo Dot, Venamoris, and Emperor’s Ihsahn.
