Rihanna’s Potential Glastonbury Headlining
There are rumors that Rihanna will be headlining Glastonbury 2025, following reports about her planned show at a London stadium scheduled for the days after the festival.
Upcoming Residency and Concert Details
According to reports, the singer of “Umbrella” is planning a six-day residency at the London stadium, with the first date set for July 4, just five days after Glastonbury concludes. Telegraph reports that, according to a senior source within the concert industry, plans are in the advanced stages, and announcements are expected in the coming weeks.
This timing is especially noteworthy as Glastonbury has confirmed Nila Yang as a headliner for 2025. Rihanna has never performed at Worthy Farm, and she has not toured since the “Anti World Tour,” which took place from March to November 2016. Her last studio album, “Anti,” was released in January 2016.
Rihanna’s Return to Music
Last summer, while discussing new music, Rihanna stated: “I am opening things up again, and I am ready to return to the studio. So I’m ready now. I’ll start. So, you know, give me a second. Yes, I’m starting all over again, but I do not want to neglect the songs that I have. I want to listen to things with fresh ears, from my new point of view, and then see what is still applicable and what I still love.”
However, in November, while discussing Fenty Beauty, she remarked: “The music was what attracted attention, but God had other plans for me.”
Her last performance was a private show in India last year, following her appearance during the break at the 2023 Super Bowl. The last recorded music she released was “Lift Me Up” for the soundtrack of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” in 2022.
Currently confirmed for Glastonbury 2025 are Neil Young as a headliner, the Stewart family in the Sunday slot, and Nile Rodgers and Chic.
