The Weeknd Announces Album Delay
The Weeknd has confirmed a postponement in the release of his forthcoming album 'Hurry Up Tomorrow' – further details are outlined below.
New Release Date and Impact of Wildfires
Hurry Up Tomorrow, the third and final installment in his Dawn FM trilogy, was initially set to drop on January 24. The release has now been pushed back by one week to January 31, in light of the recent terrorist attacks and devastating forest fires in Los Angeles.
Last week, five wildfires blazed across Los Angeles simultaneously, leading to significant destruction and evacuating over 150,000 residents. According to recent updates from CNN and Associated Press, 24 fatalities have been confirmed, with 16 individuals still unaccounted for.
In response to these tragic events, The Weeknd announced the delay of his album release via social media and also canceled his one-night concert at the Rose Bowl in California, originally scheduled for January 25th.
He stated: “Out of respect and concern for the people of Los Angeles County, I am canceling the Rose Bowl concert originally set for January 25th. This city has always been a profound source of inspiration for me, and my thoughts are with everyone impacted during this challenging time.”
He added, “Considering these circumstances, I have chosen to postpone the release of my album to January 31st. My focus remains on supporting the recovery of these communities and assisting their incredible residents in the rebuilding process.”
