Insights into Oklau’s Music Journey

In Cover, Oklau reflects on her debut album “Do Do Doover” and how her experiences with love have influenced her songwriting. “After what I experienced—and after deeply contemplating love and how I was meant for it—I couldn’t create music in the same way anymore,” she explains.

The artist, known by her real name Maryl Mainiel, also shares her passion for pop music, tracing it back to her childhood. “I was truly fascinated by pop music from the joy it brought us as kids,” she reminisces. “The excitement of singing together during parties, where everyone knew the words, created a feeling of unity.”
