The sisters—Daniel, Este, and Alan—recently provided a glimpse into their new album, set to release on March 12, through their latest single “Relations.”
During the discussion, they revealed a profound understanding of the album as a whole, indicating that one of the tracks will feature a sample reminiscent of George Michael’s style.
In a recent interview with IDENTIFIER, they described a particular track titled “Gone.” This first track of the album, as reported, conveys a sense of clarity following personal struggles. “You can hate me for being/you can tie me for what I did/you cannot make me disappear/you never saw me the way I was,” Daniel sings, accompanied by guitar.
The song includes a Gospel sampling reminiscent of “Freedom” by George Michael—though they clarified that the late artist’s team has not yet cleared the sample.
“Everything will come to light,” Alan remarked regarding the use of the sample.
Daniel shared that the song was also inspired by another pop icon, stating, “I listened to the BeyoncĂ© album, and all the different samples really sparked my creativity.” She continued, “It doesn’t feel like ‘screw you’ to me—it feels more like, ‘I’m going to do my job.’”
Exploring New Musical Directions
In other parts of the interview, the band discussed a song titled “Take Me Back,” describing it as “the rose-colored lens for all these wild, quirky, or utterly disastrous lost loves.” They also shared insights on how the album fits into their overall discography.
Alan told The Outlet that this album is “the closest we’ve gotten to achieving the sound we desire,” noting that the trio had a “completely different experience” recording it compared to their previous albums.
“Working with growth, in general, feels very fast, kinetic, which I truly love as an artist,” Daniel added. “Previously, it was a bit more… prolonged, a longer, more laborious process.”
Recently, a press release highlighted that the latest single “Relations” contrasts with their upcoming Rock Sound album.
To tease their new era, the group had previously shared a snippet of “Relations” on TikTok, featuring them dancing and singing the song in a bathroom. They also posted the cover of the single on their Instagram.
Their last release was the track “House” in 2023, part of the Barbie soundtrack. Prior to that, they released the one-off song “Lost Track,” which was performed during select showings of Licorice Pizza—the film by Paul Thomas Anderson in 2022, featuring Alan Haim alongside master Hoffman.

They haven’t released an album since their 2020 project “Women in Music, Pt. III,” which received a glowing five-star review from NME. Royan Daily noted, “By breaking free from what the world expects of them and allowing themselves to create freely, they produced a record that is experimental, soothing, and vulnerable; it’s a true masterpiece.”
Haim is scheduled to perform at the Jazz and Heritage Festival in New Orleans on April 27, and at Primavera Sound in Barcelona on June 6, followed by a performance in Portugal on June 14. You can find tickets here.
