The Deaf Havana Announces Seventh Album “Wee Never Get Out,” Featuring Ross MacDonald from The 1975.

New Album Announcement

Deaf Havana has officially announced the release of their seventh studio album, 'We Never Leave', set to be launched on October 3 through SO Recordings.

Insights from the Band

Accompanying the album announcement, the band released a new single titled “Lawn Tennis”, which explores themes of resistance against conventional life choices. This track serves as the first preview of their upcoming record, produced by George Gleu, recognized for his collaborations with Keir, Hanniu, and Scout.

“I’ve always wanted to change myself,” explains frontman James Age Gilodi. “But I also never fully owned or accepted my mistakes. Instead, I punished myself, convincing myself that I hated who I was, thus portraying a completely different persona. Moving forward, I aim to embrace the best aspects of my experiences without losing sight of my true self. Perhaps it’s a matter of age or mindset, but I finally accept who I am, and I feel more connected to my true self now.”

The album also features contributions from Ross McDonald of The 1975 on bass and drummer Freddy Shoid, who has previously collaborated with Lewis Capaldi. The twelve-track album was recorded in November 2024 at Otterhead Studios in Rugby.

“What I feel now is excitement, not fear,” adds Gilodi Age. “In the past, I was afraid to step on stage and go on tour. I used to dread releasing albums and discussing them because I was uncertain of my abilities. However, I have gained clarity about my path. I realize that I can support myself and commit fully to this work. I’m incredibly proud of these songs since we poured our hearts into them.”
