A Look at the Top Hit Tracks
Official Charts released two top-40 lists today (Wednesday, April 2). The viral breakout track “Mybey” by Cover Star Lola Young claimed the top spot in the biggest tracks list.
In just the first quarter of 2025, it amassed 597,000 chart units, totaling 775,000 since its release last year. The single first entered the top 10 during Christmas, ultimately reaching number one in January, where it held steady for four consecutive weeks.
Claiming the second position in the largest songs of the UK for 2025 is “Apt.”, the collaboration between Bruno Mars and Rosa. This single shifted 564,000 chart units in the first quarter of the year, making it the most streamed track of 2025 with 71.58 million listens.
Mars also secured fourth place with his collaboration with Lady Gaga, “Died with a Smile.” Additionally, Gaga appeared at 27 with her single “MayHem (Abracadabra).”
Completing the top five is “This is So True” by Gracie Abrams, which ranks third with 512K chart units, followed by “The Days” by Chrystal at fifth, with 375K chart units.
In other notable performances, Chappell Roan made two appearances in the top 10 with “Good Luck, Baby!” (7th) and “Pink Pony Club” (9th). The latter earned the singer her first UK number one single last month, nearly five years after its original release.

The Top Albums of 2025
Currently, the list of the largest albums in the UK for 2025 is led by “Short N’ Sweet” by Sabrina Carpenter, which has earned 196,000 chart units this year alone. Since its release last year, it has accumulated a total of 569,000 chart units.
Carpenter’s sixth studio album spent four weeks at number one in the UK, including two weeks this year, and previously claimed the title of the third-largest album of 2024.
Sam Fender follows in second place with his third album “People Watching.” Back in February, he achieved the largest British debut for a British act since Harry Styles.
LP also stands out as the largest album this year from a British act, recording 142,400 chart units. “People Watching” is also the highest-selling album overall and the largest physical release of the year, with over 100,000 copies sold across all physical formats.
Ed Sheeran’s ‘+ – = ÷ × (Tour Collection)’ rounds out the third spot, while “SOS” by SZA and “The Uprising and Fall of the Princess of the Midwest” by Chappell Roan occupy the fourth and fifth positions, respectively. The latter gave the singer her first UK album number one last summer, nearly a year after its initial release.

In a recent chat with NME, Lola Young reflected on her success at the 2025 Brit Awards, stating how proud she is of “dirty.” “I’m taking this all in stride and embracing every moment. I’m genuinely proud of the song,” she stated.
“I believe it conveys the message that women don’t have to conform to what others expect of them. Everyone has felt inadequate at some point. “I want to be myself; isn’t that allowed?” she added, emphasizing the power of her lyrics.
