Clutter has debuted their EP “Clutter Loves You”, which was released on April 11 through PNKSLM Records, alongside the new single “Kraut”.
About the Band
Founded in Stockholm, Clutter comprises four members: Hilda Ander, Emma French, Ove Jerndal, and Vill Scott. Their sound blends grunge and post-punk influences, characterized by distorted guitars and fuzzy vocals. “Kraut,” which made its debut on BBC Radio 6 Music with Tom Ravenscroft, closes out the EP and marks the first song the band recorded together.
Sentimental Beginnings
“At our first concert, we played only two songs, and ‘Kraut’ was one of them, making it quite sentimental,” the group shared. “The live performance creates an atmosphere that reflects our feelings for the song and the audience’s reaction, and this was one of the first songs where we experienced that connection.”
Discussing the inspiration behind the track, they explained: “‘Kraut’ is a simple, endless cycle of static guitars. The straightforward composition is paired with emotionally charged vocals and a nostalgic synthesizer. This song represents a fairy-tale dance reflecting the death of Kruty and is one of the first songs we wrote together. Hilda penned the lyrics about her long journey home from one of her first real parties. We created the music together in our old school, improvising sounds on a small synthesizer in a tiny children’s bedroom. It encapsulates feelings of nostalgia and the essence of a teenager, a sentiment we all inevitably lose.”
This six-track EP follows their initial double single release of “Jesus/Holy Brother”.
