The Amazons and Royal Blood Team Up for New Single, “My Blood”

The Amazons and Royal Blood Collaboration

The Amazons have joined forces with Royal Blood for their latest single “My Blood”, which is part of their forthcoming fourth album, 21st Century Fiction, set to release on May 9th.

Track Details and Meaning

The song premiered on BBC Radio 1 and was produced by Royal Blood, featuring Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher on drums. This release comes after The Amazons’ successful sold-out UK tour in December.

Lead singer Matt Thomson elaborates on the meaning behind “My Blood”: “Why do we carry on when everything is running out and all we hear is stop? “My Blood” explores the idea of moving past pain when you truly believe in something. It’s not an intellectual exercise; it’s a visceral experience. As we age, we face more responsibilities and challenges, yet I aimed to capture a force within us that transcends rational thought.”

Regarding the collaboration, Thomson shares: “Mike was one of the first I approached about working on 21st Century Fiction.” Over the years, he has become somewhat of a mentor. He’s one of the few industry figures I can call and spend hours discussing music with. I felt that this album and “My Blood” were the perfect opportunity to deepen our artistic relationship. We want to seize every chance to collaborate with artists we respect and admire.”
