Musical Composition and Visualizer
The track “Drop,” produced by Jahphet Landis, opens with Adebimpe BeatBoxing, leading into soft synthesizers and a clear guitar riff. “But will I feel it when I fall? / Restless clock / ticking of watches / in my life / and my life is just a point / on a temporary scale / and my soul / today fades away,” – he reflects on the complexities of life.
The accompanying visualizer features linear drawings of Adebimpe BeatBoxing, set against a psychedelic, colorful kaleidoscopic background, with lyric text appearing on the screen.

Album Details and Release Date
“Drop” is the second single following “Magnetic,” which was released in September last year. Both tracks will be included in the “Black Boltz” album.
The album is a collaboration between Adebimpe and Wilder Zoby, who served as executive producer. Fellow TV on the Radio members Jalil Betram and Jahphet Landis contributed additional production and support for the album.
According to the press release, “Black Boltz” represents “a nod to Adebimpe’s tendency to write and sing about the human condition – in all its complexity, under varied stressors, both large and small.” The album is set to be released on April 18 through Sub Pop, and you can pre-order it here.
