Taylor Swift Weighs in on Blake Lively-Justin Baldoni Legal Feud

Taylor Swift Involved In Legal Dispute

Taylor Swift has been called by Justin Baldoni’s legal team amid his ongoing legal battle with Blake Lively.

Accusations And Witness Statements

The conflict revolves around allegations of sexual harassment, retaliation, and slander in connection with the filming of It Ends With Us, which Baldoni directed and starred alongside Lively.

In a recent twist, Swift, who is a close friend of Lively, has been cited as a witness by Baldoni’s legal representatives. They claim the singer was present during discussions between Lively and Baldoni regarding the script early in the film’s production.

According to the lawsuit, Lively had invited Baldoni to her home in New York to discuss potential changes in the script. Baldoni was reportedly surprised to find Swift, accompanied by her husband Ryan Reynolds, also present. He alleges that both Swift and Reynolds endorsed a version of a particular scene suggested by Lively, compelling him to agree to the modifications.

Swift’s representatives have responded to the court proceedings, asserting her lack of involvement in the project (through Billboard) stating, “Taylor Swift never stepped on the set, did not partake in casting or creative decisions, did not score the film, never saw editing, and did not view It Ends With Us until several weeks after its public release in 2023.” They continued, “Taylor’s connection to this film solely allowed for the use of one song, ‘my tears ricochet.’ Given that her involvement was limited to licensing a song, this document appears designed to leverage her name for publicity and generate tabloid interest instead of addressing the case’s substantive issues.”

The latest submission also includes text messages, first reported in January, featuring one in which Lively refers to Swift and Reynolds as her “dragons”: “If you’ve ever seen Game of Thrones, you will understand that I am Khalisi, and like her, I have several dragons. They might be in a bad position, but usually, they are better because my dragons also protect those I fight for.”

“The message is unmistakable,” Baldoni’s attorneys stated in a recent filing. “Baldoni did not just face challenges; he also confronted Lively’s ‘dragons,’ the two most influential and affluent celebrities globally, who were unafraid to complicate matters for him.”

The legal battle commenced in December when Lively filed a complaint with the Civil Rights Department in California against Baldoni, accusing him of sexual harassment and retaliation. She claimed he engaged in “inappropriate and unwanted behavior” and attempted to “destroy” her reputation.

Baldoni has denied all allegations and, on January 16, included Reynolds and publicist Leslie Sloan in his lawsuit. Following Lively’s allegations, Baldoni was dropped by his talent agency, William Morris Endeavour (WME), and faced backlash concerning female solidarity.
