Taylor Swift Contributes $250,000 to Children’s Nonprofit in Kansas City

Taylor Swift has generously donated $250,000 (£200,000) to a child poverty charity in Kansas City, Missouri.

The pop megastar made her donation to Operation Breakthrough just days before Christmas (December 21), and the organization shared a heartfelt video on social media to express their gratitude.

Founded in 1971 by Sister Corita Bussanmas and Sister Bertha Sailer, Operation Breakthrough seeks to “provide a safe, loving and educational environment for children living in poverty and empower their families through advocacy, relief and education.”

In an Instagram post, several children thanked Swift directly, with the organization stating in the caption, “Thank you @taylorswift for making our holiday season shine even brighter! Your kindness and thoughtful donation of 250 thousand means the world to our children and families.”
