Box Office Success and Future Endeavors

This marks the first major black comedy with female leads since Girls Trip in 2017, and it has recently emerged as an unexpected hit in the USA. The film outperformed the horror film Wolfman to secure the second spot at the box office, right behind Mufasa: King of the Lion. It currently boasts a 95-percent “fresh” rating on the review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.

This success promises a great year for SZA, as Kendrick Lamar recently confirmed her as a special guest for his Super Bowl halftime show on February 9 in New Orleans. The duo has also announced a joint tour.

Palmer has achieved notable success on the big screen in films like Nope and Hustlers. Last year, she reflected on Ice Cube’s advice for protecting herself as a woman in the film industry. The rapper, her co-star in the 2008 film Long Shots, reportedly told her: “The way these people see you on the set is not the way you see yourself – so, protect yourself.”
