Sunny Signs With A20 Entertainment
Girls’ Generation Sunny member signed a contract with A20 Entertainment, a new label founded by the founder of SM Entertainment, Lee Soo-Man.
Details of the New Contract
South Korean news publication NoCut News reported on April 9 that Sunny’s Girls signed an exclusive contract with A20 Entertainment. The new agency was established by Lee Soo-Man following his departure from K-Pop.
A20 Entertainment announced that Sunny will take on the development of a training program for A20 interns, which will include video content planning and filming, styling, choreography guidance, and psychological support.
This contract with A20 Entertainment marks Sunny’s first since her previous agreement with the long-standing label SM Entertainment expired in August 2023, after 16 years with the company.
A20 Entertainment was founded by Lee Soo-Man in 2024. The relationship between him and SM Entertainment began to deteriorate in late 2012, when the K-Pop agency terminated its contract with Planning, a music company he managed.
In 2023, K-Pop giant Hybe reached an agreement to acquire a controlling stake in SM Entertainment by purchasing 3.5 million shares from Lee. Subsequently, Hybe was accused by the SM Entertainment office of attempting a “hostile takeover” of the K-Pop agency.
