Meanwhile, Sparks have also been announced to perform at the Bilbao BBK 2025 in Spain. They will be touring in Japan prior to heading to the UK in June.

In a four-star review of their previous album, 2023’s “The Girl As Fry in Latt,” NME remarked that the album is “a reminder that even now, Sparks are still willing to lead the way, pushing their music into an ambitious territory that few have ventured before, paving the way for other acts to hopefully follow their lead.”

Previously, the band had considered collaborating with director Edgar Wright for a 2021 documentary on their career. In an interview with NME, Ron Mael mentioned: “Cinema has always been a part of us. The notion of spectacle, something grand, colorful, and dramatic has profoundly influenced us.”

The band was awarded the Best Musical Film at Bandlab NME in 2022.

In other news, Morrissey criticized Sparks, calling them “headless palisades who threw their old friends into a pool of molten lava for fame.”
