Sony Music Publishing Reinstates Exclusive Global Partnership with Music India

Expansion of Partnership

Music’s Music and Sony Music Publishing have broadened their global publishing alliance, initially established in 2023.

The extended long-term agreement grants SMP expanded rights to the Tips Music catalog, which boasts 32,000 tracks in 24 languages, representing what is touted as “one of the most beloved soundtracks of Indian cinema and popular music.”

This transaction encompasses the administration, synchronization, and the broader promotion of the Music Music repertoire across global digital platforms.

The update introduces YouTube (excluding India) as a key platform for the international publishing operations of the Tips Music catalog.

As stated in a press release published on Monday (March 3), the strategic update “reinforces the commitment of both companies to enhance the global presence of Indian music, particularly as Bollywood soundtracks continue to gain traction in international markets.”

On Monday, Tips Music announced plans to “significantly invest” and release 12-15 Bollywood/regional films annually.

The company also revealed that it has a roster of independent musical releases under the Tips Originals brand.
