Details About Project Century
Project Century was announced at The Game Awards over the weekend. Created by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, the game is set in 1915 Japan and is based on a short teaser trailer that appears to be much more brutal and bloody than the longer Yakuza series.
The game is said to be a “completely new concept” from the studio, although it could also be related to the Like a Dragon universe set in the present day.
The release date for Project Century is currently unknown, but it seems that Snoop Dogg may be involved in the film.
Snoop Dogg at The Game Awards
Snoop Dogg was also in attendance at The Game Awards, and shortly after the event concluded, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio tweeted a photograph of the rapper wearing an exact replica of the mysterious protagonist’s jacket from Project Century. They captioned the image “…bye.”
Earlier in the evening, while presenting the award for Best Current Play, Snoop remarked: “I don’t have the game… yet“

Studio director Masayoshi Yokoyama also shared a photo of him recreating Snoop’s pose next to the message “Please wait a moment.”
“They finally celebrated Project Century outside of The Game Awards with SNOOP DOGG?!” Never change,” wrote one fan. “I wouldn’t be surprised if Snoop Dogg ends up being the final boss,” added another.
Will Snoop be involved in RGG’s new game Project Century? That would hurt like hell! https://t.co/awPrdL8tyB

Snoop Dogg won’t be the first celebrity to participate in a Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio project. In Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Danny Trejo played the villain Dwight Mendes, and after the game’s launch, Sega shared a poll asking fans which other collaborations they would like to see. Snoop Dogg was suggested alongside Lady Gaga, Eminem, and Billie Eilish.
In other news, a fan-favorite mini-game, Gwent, is set to return in The Witcher 4, according to the creators.
