Sleigh Bells Unveil ‘Wanna Start a Band’, Their First Release Since 2021

Sleigh Bells bring new music

Sleigh Bells has made their return with their first new track since the 2021 release of Texis, unveiling the single “Wanna Start a Band.”

About the collaboration

This Shumopop duet, featuring Alexis Krauss and Derek Miller, crafted the track around a riff that Miller first started working on back in 2014.

“In 2008, while dining in a Brooklyn restaurant with my mother, our server Derek asked me, ‘Want to start a group?’” explains Krauss. “It’s incredible to think that almost 17 years later, we are still creating and obsessively making music together. Derek began experimenting with the riff for this song around 2014; it needed a lot of refinement, but there was a spark. At that time, we already had a group, but we didn’t know how long it would last. For us, this song serves as a reminder of how we got started, but it also marks the beginning of a new story we want to unfold—more details coming soon! We hope you join us on this journey.”
