New album announcement
Simple Minds has unveiled a new live album, just ahead of their highly anticipated tour across Great Britain and Ireland this summer. Find all the details below.
The Scottish band is set to release Live in the City of Diamonds on April 24 (Pre-order it here). This release features a full concert from the Ziggo Dome Arena in Amsterdam, recorded on April 6, 2024.
Album formats and content
Fans will have the opportunity to purchase the album in the following physical formats:
2 x CD Media Book: Contains 24 tracks and a 24-page book featuring exclusive photos and tour notes penned by Jim Kerr.
Double black vinyl: Includes 18 tracks housed in a high-spec finish sleeve.
Special retail exclusive vinyl: Features double transparent vinyl, presented in a high-spec finish sleeve.

The upcoming album features a live rendition of Simple Minds’ 1985 hit single “Not You (Forget About Me)”, along with classic tracks such as “Song of Love”, “Sons and Hobbies”, and “Sweat in the Bullet”, as well as selections from their 1982 defining album, New Gold Dream.
Additionally, the album includes material from the group’s 1985 track “Once Upon a Time”, the chart-topping “Belfast Child” from 1989, and songs from their 1991 album Real Life, including fan favorites like “SM . Light”.

Simple Minds will hit the road this summer to headline concerts across Great Britain and Ireland.
The tour kicks off with a monumental show in their hometown of Glasgow at Bellahouston Park on June 27, where they will perform their 1985 album Once Upon a Time in its entirety to celebrate its 40th anniversary.
Following this, Simple Minds will perform in Lincoln, Southampton, Dublin, Bedford, Halifax, and Derby. Tickets are on sale now – Get your tickets here and check out the full itinerary below.
They will also take the stage at the Lytham Festival 2025, sharing the lineup with big names such as Justin Timberlake, Alanis Morissette, and Texas.
