Shamir’s Final Album Announcement
Shamir announced ten tracks in his upcoming final album, titled “Set For Release,” which is scheduled to debut this Spring via Kill Rock Stars.
Album Details and First Single
This record features a compilation of songs crafted by close collaborators, alongside unused demonstrations and previously discarded tracks that have been reimagined. The initial single, “Neverwannago,” written by musician Andrew Harmon from Portland, is accompanied by a video directed by Matthew Ober, featuring August Nanda.
Musical Evolution
Since releasing his debut studio album “Ratchet” in 2015, Shamir has continually evolved his musical style, referring to his approach as “anti-quarry.” His 2017 releases, “Hope” and “Revelations,” were recorded live on a four-track, while his 2020 self-titled album explored diverse genres including folk, country, indie rock, and dance pop. His recent projects, “Heterosexuality” and “Homo Antingatem,” were released in 2022 and 2023, respectively.
