Shame to Headline May Festival in Northern Shields

Festival of a throw of stone has revealed the initial lineup for their 2025 publication, featuring Shame as they take on the northeastern coastal music scene.

Event Details

Scheduled for May 25 across various venues in North Shields, the event will also showcase performances from Katie Gi Parson, Psychedelic Crampotes, Du Blond, Man/Woman/Chainsaw, and Swim Deep.

The festival will take place in several local spots, including Exchange 1856, Cing Street Social Club, Salt Market Social, Three Tanners Bank, and The Menerition. A throw of the stone collaborates with Go North East to offer two-story bus services with an open-top option included in the ticket price, featuring live copper orchestras performing on the upper deck.

Community Engagement

This event coincides with NS 800, an initiative by the Council celebrating the 800th anniversary of North Shields in the annual event calendar.

“Now, in its third edition, a throw of the stone has gained momentum since its inception in 2022,” says founder Anthony Thompson. “2025 will see this event honed in North Shields as part of the city’s 800th anniversary celebration, and we are excited to present such a high-caliber lineup in locations that often go unnoticed. Witnessing the local community support has been amazing, and it is incredibly encouraging to highlight our local area while welcoming international talents. We look forward to furthering the event’s growth in 2025!”

The complete lineup announced thus far includes Brogel, Ernie, at home, Sun King, Lamantins, Collar, and White Flowers, with more acts to be revealed.
