Shaboozey Joins Spotify’s Billions Club
Shaboozey has become the latest artist to join Spotify’s Billions Club with his track “A Bar Song (Tipsy).”
The American singer and producer took to his official Instagram account to share the award by posting a photo of himself dressed in a white outfit and a white fur hat—reminiscent of the attire he wore while performing alongside Beyoncé during her Christmas halftime show on his channel. “A billion streams + Beyonce bowl in the same day. This is a Christmas miracle,” he wrote in the caption of his post. He also shared a photo of the Billions Club from Spotify with the caption: “Best Christmas gift @spotify.”
Chart Success of “A Bar Song (Tipsy)”
“A Bar Song (Tipsy)” is currently tied with Gabby Barrett’s chart-topping hit “I Hope” from 2020 for the longest number one on Billboard’s US Hot Country Songs chart this decade, with a total of 27 weeks at the top.
Shaboozey’s hit has amassed 17.5 million streams and garnered 63.8 million views since its release in May, according to Luminate. In November, the track equaled Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road,” spending a total of 19 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
“A Bar Song (Tipsy)” has received nominations for Song of the Year, Best Country Song, and Best Country Solo Performance at the 67th Grammy Awards, which will take place on February 2, 2025, at the Crypto Arena in Los Angeles. Additionally, Shaboosie himself is nominated for Best New Artist.
On Wednesday (December 25), Shaboosie appeared alongside Beyoncé at the NFL’s “Halftime Show” Christmas game in her hometown of Houston, Texas, where they performed “Spaghettii/Riiverdance/Sweet Honey Buckiin.”
