Upcoming Military Service Announcement
Seventeen members of Wonva will commence military service next month, as confirmed by their label.
Details of Wonwoo’s Enrollment
Today (March 5), Wonwoo and his label Pledis Entertainment released a statement regarding the Weight Announcement of the forthcoming military enlistment of the K-POP idol. “We would like to share the news that Wonwoo of Seventeen will begin his compulsory military service on April 3 of this year,” the statement reads.
Consequently, the K-Pop star will miss the BoyBand’s headlining slot at the Tecate Pa’l Norte music festival in Mexico and their fan meeting in Japan, both of which occur after his enlistment. However, Wonwoo will participate in the upcoming fan event “Karatland” in Seoul at the end of this month, as well as in some previously recorded content.
“On the day of his enlistment, there will be no official event, and we kindly ask you to refrain from visiting the site of his alternative military service,” Pledis Entertainment added. “We request your continuous love and support for the artist for his safe and healthy return. We will also ensure that Wonwoo has all the necessary support during this time.”
Other Members’ Military Service Plans
Wonwoo will be the second member of Seventeen to enlist, following Chonkhan, who began his service in September 2024. Other members of the BoyBand expected to enlist by the end of the year include Hoshi and University, who are currently preparing to debut as a new unit.
In January, Hoshi also released new music with a separate Seventeen BSS project completed by Seungkwan and DK through one Teleparty album. This included the title track “CBZ (Prime Time)” and marked the first return of the trio since they released “Second Wind” in early 2023.
