Serpentwithfeet Unveils New Album “Grip Sequel” and Releases Single “Writhing in the Wind”

Serpentwithfeet Announces New Release

Serpentwithfeet is poised to launch GRIP SEQUEL, the successor to 2024’s GRIP, on February 28 via Secretly Canadian.

New Tracks and Remixes Included

This upcoming release comprises six brand new tracks along with alternate versions of three songs from GRIP. Noteworthy inclusions are a string rendition of “Lucky Me,” alongside remixes of “Spades” featuring Augie and Destin Conrad, as well as “Damn Gloves” featuring Ty Dolla $ign, TH41, and Azzy.

The artist has unveiled his new single “WRITHING IN THE WIND,” complete with a video clip. “The sound of a lover praying. He knows he screwed up, but he desperately wants a second chance,” serpentwithfeet reflects on the track.

Regarding this new project, serpentwithfeet states: “I needed to say more. I had more questions about intimacy, and this was a fun way to explore them.”

This release comes on the heels of serpentwithfeet’s theatrical work, Heart of Brick, which delves into black gay nightlife. The production premiered in Europe before making its way to North America in 2023. Following the launch of “GRIP” in 2024, serpentwithfeet completed a 13-date North American tour supporting André 3000.

“GRIP SEQUEL” consists of nine tracks in total, including “Beg Quietly,” “Pillow Talk,” “Chapter & Vers,” “Seagull” featuring Ben Reilly, “Writhing in the Wind,” “Wanderer,” “Lucky Me (Strings)” featuring Yulia, “Spades Remix” featuring Augie and Destin Conrad, and “Damn Gloves Baile Funk Remix” featuring Ty Dolla $ign, TH41, and Azzy.
